Well, this picture was taken last night before we went to labor and delivery to check on Kellen's health and see if I should be induced sooner than later. We packed everything just in case we ended up staying at the hospital, so it was good practice for the real thing. I am now 41.5 weeks pregnant - otherwise known as 10 days past my due date! Kellen is definitely very comfortable in my big belly and hasn't decided to join the outside world yet. I was worried the last couple of days because for one thing I am a worrier that is just what I do :) and for two because his amniotic fluid is getting low since he is so late. I was considering doing an induction last night if his fluid had gotten any lower, even if the midwives and OB's said I didn't have to, just because I was worrying so much. But, after a series of very reassuring tests (his fluid even went up a little), and a long talk with the midwife I feel very confident letting him hangout in there a few more days. On Tuesday the 28th, I will officially be 42 weeks pregnant and Kellen will have no choice in the matter, the midwives are serving eviction notice papers to him that morning with an induction. So, he has 4 days to make his way out on his own. Which I really hope he decides to do! We have had many long talks with Kellen, pleading with him to start his first big adventure in this world and make his way out. I am getting the feeling though that he may have inherited some of his Daddy's stubbornness ;) Today I decided to start this blog as a way for family and friends to check in on how we are all doing and to see pictures of our new family. I got the inspiration to do this after viewing Erin's new family blog - thanks Erin! It is also a great way for me to pass the next few days of waiting, getting this thing up and going. I can't believe that at the most we have only 4 short days until we will be parents to a real live human baby!! We are already parents to two fabulous cats (but they are pretty self sufficient). Wow, the last 10 months have been filled with so many ups and downs and huge life changes, and the biggest is yet to come! In the last 10 months we learned I was pregnant, I graduated from college (FINALLY!) and we moved from a small town in the redwoods of Humboldt County located at the farthest northern point of CA back to big, hot San Diego. After a few months of transition we are finally settled in our apartment in the University Heights neighborhood of San Diego and are all ready for Kellen to make our little place even more of a cozy home.
