mornings with mommy at the park

Kellen and I finally have a little routine in place, which is really nice. Part of the routine is mornings at the park. After his morning nap I put him in his exersaucer, pull it up to the bathroom and talk to him as I get ready for the day, then I lug his stroller down the stairs to the courtyard (talking to Kellen from outside the whole time - if I don't he starts fussing) and then we are off! The park is only a couple of blocks away and it has become such an important part of our day. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get him to the park for an hour or so to burn some of his energy. He loves to crawl all over the playground stopping to look at all the little interesting things he sees: bark, pebbles, discarded toys, other babies and kids. He is so funny, on two different occasions he has pulled himself up to standing on this same 2 yr olds pants. This kid is scared of Kellen, he looks at him like, "ahhh attack of the babies!!"

Going to the park has been really great for me as well. It has been nice getting a little sun and chatting with the other parents and nannies who are at the park  - every day like me. It's so funny how as parents we always introduce the babies first and we'll trade baby stats for 5 minutes before introducing ourselves. It is like we are all crazed for information about babies and kids. Really it seems like we are all just so proud and in love with our children and so happy to have someone else to talk to who understands the obsession!

Heading to the park Kellen is so excited to get there. He sits all the way forward and swivels his head from side to side to survey the route.

Here is Kellen at "the general store" under the jungle gym, it's a baby hotspot.

Lately he has ben into swinging superman style, leaning al the way forward. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it (seems like it would make him pukey) but once I discovered that he was having more fun and wasn't gnawing on the metal chains anymore I was convinced.

Here he is one morning cruising the playground for baby buddies. I feel like he looks like baby hercules here.

irritated to be back at home.
here's some spit mommy!
