What a CRAZY week! I think that all the bragging I have been doing about what an incredibly "mellow" baby I have jinxed me! Don't get me wrong he is still the sweetest and for the most part very laid back, but he can definitely scream when he isn't happy. The week started off with a day of non-stop spitting up. I went through 5 shirts on Monday and Kellen was not happy. He was so ravenous when he was eating that I could hear he sucking down too much air and then he would spit it back up. Of course I managed to get a killer headache during all this changing of clothes and calming him down. Not a fun day.
I have noticed that he is super clingy this week, he cries when I put him down and wants to be stuck to me all day. As flattering as that is it was tough to get anything done. Not that I am trying to do anything crazy like say, empty the dishwasher, I mean just brushing my teeth and going to the bathroom were practically impossible.
We have also discovered that he has an ingrown toe nail that has a little infection festering. He has the funniest big toes, his nails are tiny and the skin around them sort of puff up so I could tell from the first day I saw those little piggies that ingrown nails were going to be an issue. I made an appointment to get it treated and he was weighed again at the doctors office.
Well, he has gained 3 lbs in 1 month and is now 13.4 lbs!!! He is only 6 weeks old! That is the average weight of a 3 month old! I am a little sad that he is getting so huge so quickly. There was another baby in the waiting room with his same birthday and his mom said he only weighed 9 lbs, and she thought that was big! I was like, ummm he looks like Kellen did when we brought him home from the hospital. It was crazy. And there was Kellen, pushing up to a standing position in my lap and bobbing his head around...and there was her little 6 week old all bundled and snug in his car seat. The other mom was shocked at how well he was holding his head up and couldn't believe he was standing up. I felt like we were a tad freakish!
Anyway, we have to give Kellen a liquid suspension of his antibiotics twice a day, and let me tell you he just loves that. haha! It is awful! He chokes and cries and looks at me like I am poisoning him. I feel so bad, all he has had up till now is my absolutely delicious breast milk, and now he has to choke down this disgusting peppermint pink crap. So, the week is winding down and he is still eating ravenously and growing bigger by the second! Oh! One great thing that happened was he slept 8 hours the other night!! It was unbelievable. He went back to his normal sleep schedule the next night but I will always treasure that night of 8 hours of sleep!

Cute post! I'm glad you made it to Christmas at the Prado :) By the way...don't feel bad we just have big boys on our hands. Jordan was 14.5 at 2 months and he has slowed down and is now 17...don't worry they don't grow that fast forever. Just treasure those little rolls. I hope his toe feels better soon. I hear you on the strong boys vs some other babies they come into contact with. Let's just hope for big soccer players like their daddies! I love the pic of Brandon and Kellen...so cute!
kellen is getting so big so fast, he's so healthy looking. Max was the same way, and it always felt good knowing that we were doing everything right(as far as feeding and such)I mean you hear all these stories about babies who need more or are always struggling with illness and it makes you feel so grateful to have a little bruiser. He's so alert too, and ready for the world! I think that's going to be his personality, go go go and reaching those milestones early.
